Millie Brown is a published photographer and National Photographic Portrait Prize finalist. She has a passion for immersing herself in nature while exploring the world. She aims to live simply, travel slowly and tread lightly.

I currently work as a freelance photographer shooting editorial and special projects. I have been fortunate enough to shoot for some of Australia’s most beautiful travel publications, and to also have been nominated as both a finalist and semi-finalist in some of the country’s most prestigious photography awards, including the National Photographic Portrait Prize.

My interest for photography started at an early age, however it was not until I moved to Europe to live that it became my burning passion.

During those ‘european years’ I happily and excitedly spent much of my time jumping on and off trains with not much else but my camera, capturing images of the people, life and places that awakened my childlike sense of adventure.

Many of these years were spent living on the French Riviera and it was here waking up to the sun’s rays bouncing off the shimmering blue of the sea, and revelling in the long languid days of mediterranean summers that my INTO THE BLUE fine art print series came together.

Upon returning to Australia some 5 years ago I experienced a yearning to discover my native country. Long dusty road trips into the outback of this diverse and ancient land and days spent hiking her magnificent landscapes are where I feel the freedom and connection to nature that I crave while living in the city.

INTO THE WILD, my most recent print series was born from my love of being immersed in the natural world, and escaping into her beauty and stillness. Hiking alone with my camera as I did for this series allowed me to not only be in a place of beautiful solitude but to also photograph this natural wilderness area intentionally and from a place of connection.

I currently live in Adelaide, South Australia and love to spend as much of my time as possible outdoors, as this is where I feel most at ease and connected to life.
